In a major move aimed at strengthening grassroots political engagement and enhancing coordination across his constituency, the Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has announced the appointment of three Special Advisers on Political Affairs and 58 Ward Liaison Officers.
According to an official statement released by the lawmaker, the appointments are part of his renewed commitment to inclusive governance and effective grassroots representation.
The newly appointed Special Advisers will oversee political matters and constituency project monitoring in their respective Local Government Areas. They include:
- Hon. Rotshak Gideon Yokden for Pankshin LGA
- Hon. James Golen for Kanke LGA
- Hon. Mohammed Abdullahi Barau for Kanam LGA
“These individuals have demonstrated outstanding leadership and unwavering loyalty to our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and to the people of PKK. Their mandate is to provide political guidance, mobilization strategies, and ensure closer oversight on constituency projects,” Gagdi stated.
In a broader grassroots engagement effort, all 58 councilorship candidates of the APC in the last local government elections have been appointed as Ward Liaison Officers.
Each of them will serve as a vital link between the constituents and the representative’s office, facilitating communication, mobilization, and feedback from their respective wards.
The list includes representatives from all wards across the three LGAs, with 20 from Pankshin, 18 from Kanke, and 20 from Kanam.
All appointees have been invited to the Constituency Headquarters on Saturday, April 12, 2025, for documentation and to receive their official appointment letters. As part of efforts to support a smooth takeoff, each officer will also receive two months’ salary (April and May) in advance.
