PDP National Chairmanship: Northern Youths Endorse Sidi Abdul for Top Post

Youths of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from across Nigeria's northern states have thrown their weight behind Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi, Kauran Lapai of Niger State, urging him to contest for the position of PDP National Chairman at the upcoming national convention.

The endorsement was announced by Ahmed Abdullahi Sheikh, Secretary of PDP Youths for Integrity (PYI), following an emergency meeting held in Kaduna. Sheikh emphasised Alhaji Sidi Abdul's credentials as a "true democrat," expressing confidence that his leadership would unify the party and facilitate the return of members who had defected.

"We are confident that if elected, Sidi Abdul will reposition the party and return the PDP to its foundational principles and ideology as a winning party," Sheikh stated. "This will help us secure victories in more states and in the presidential election in 2027."

Sheikh also called upon the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) to endorse Sidi Abdul's candidacy during the national convention.

Comrade Shehu Usman, leader of PYI, echoed these sentiments, highlighting Sidi Abdul's grassroots background and his reputation as an "active and selfless politician." He urged the NWC and all party stakeholders to rally behind Sidi Abdul, citing his "demonstrated integrity and political acumen."

The youth's endorsement underscores the growing support for Sidi Abdul within the PDP, reflecting their aspirations for a revitalized and unified party poised for future electoral success. The call for his candidacy marks a significant development in the lead-up to the PDP's national convention.
