To foster economic independence and skill development, Supreme Family Entertainment, in partnership with the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, FSI, is launching a comprehensive training and empowerment program for 1,000 women in Abuja. The initiative, scheduled to run from Thursday, February 27th to Saturday, March 1st, 2025, will equip participants with practical skills in high-demand trades, enabling them to establish sustainable businesses and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economy.
The program features a robust curriculum designed to address market demands and provide women with tangible, income-generating skills. Participants will receive hands-on training in:
- Household Essentials: Soap making, perfume production, and Vaseline manufacturing.
- Local Crafts: Creation of once (a popular local snack), throw pillow design, and sax (bag/pouch) making.
- Beauty and Fashion: Makeup artistry and turban tying.
- Culinary Arts: Catering, with a focus on preparing party rice and other culinary specialties.
This diverse range of skills ensures that women from various backgrounds and interests can find opportunities to thrive as entrepreneurs.
A Commitment to Women’s Empowerment
Amb. Dr. Joyce Matthew Andrew, CEO SFII, said the program’s goal of empowering women to become active contributors to the economy. “This initiative is more than just training; it’s about equipping women with the tools they need to achieve self-sufficiency and create lasting change for themselves, their families, and their communities,” she stated.
The partnership with Supreme Family Entertainment, led by Amb. The training sessions will be held at the Copa Copana Gardens, located at Wumba Junction, Apo, Abuja. The venue was chosen for its accessibility and capacity to host large-scale events.
Daily sessions will begin at 2:00 PM, providing ample time for hands-on learning and practical application of skills.
