Kada Warriors FC Set for Historic Debut in Federation Cup as Tournament Kicks Off in Kaduna

 






Kaduna, February 12, 2025 – The stage is set for an exciting Federation Cup competition as Kada Warriors FC, Kaduna State’s Nigeria National League club, prepares to make its debut in Nigeria’s oldest football tournament. The teams, both senior and junior squads, are brimming with confidence and determination to leave a mark in this year’s edition.  


The tournament, which kicked off today at the Kaduna Township Stadium, holds special significance for Kada Warriors FC, as they aim to make history in their maiden appearance. Coach Yinka Salihu expressed optimism about his team’s readiness, stating that the players are in high spirits and fully prepared for the challenge ahead.  


“The players are in the right frame of mind and are highly motivated to get the job done,” said Coach Salihu. “We have put in the work during preparations, and now it’s time to show what we’re made of.”  


The defending champions, Green Beret FC, have received a bye in the first round and will join the competition in the next stage. Meanwhile, the female category will see an automatic final showdown between Gallant Queens and Kada Queens, as they are the only two registered teams in the women’s division.  


Match Day 1 Highlights 

The tournament opened today with two thrilling fixtures. M&D Academy faced off against Junior Kada Warriors at 1:30 PM, followed by a clash between Simoiben FC and Zumunchi Academy at 3:30 PM, both held at the Kaduna Township Stadium.  


Match Day 2 Preview 

Tomorrow, February 13, 2025, the action continues with Golden Boys Academy taking on Triple O. Academy at 1:30 PM. The highlight of the day will be Kada Warriors FC’s much-anticipated debut against Sabon Kawo Academy at 3:30 PM, also at the Kaduna Township Stadium. 

The Federation Cup, known for its rich history and intense competition, provides a platform for both established and emerging teams to showcase their talent. For Kada Warriors FC, this year’s tournament represents an opportunity to etch their name in Nigerian football history.
