Sa'idu Idris Dibis, SA Sports to Gov' Uba Sani |
By Babangida Kakaki, Kaduna
The Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on Sports, Hon. Sa'idu Idris Dibis, has cautioned former Governor Nasiru El-Rufai to guard against his inflammatory utterances, which are overheating the polity.
Dibis expressed disappointment that a man of such learning and erudition could stoop so low as to make public pronouncements that not only tarnish his reputation but also create unnecessary tension.
The SA on Sports made these remarks during an exclusive interview with newsmen in Kaduna while reacting to El-Rufai's recent TV interview.
Hon. Idris Dibis stated that it is becoming increasingly obvious that the former governor lacks emotional intelligence, which is why he is behaving like a wounded lion, courting controversy with all manner of people and creating enemies he ought not to.
On the issue of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, the SA on Sports accused El-Rufai of being deceptive and nonsensical. He noted that despite the NSA's achievements in containing insecurity in many parts of the North—a feat not recorded during the previous administration—El-Rufai is attempting to discredit the NSA's efforts and sow political discord between him and the Presidency. Dibis described this behavior as uncalled for, deceitful, and condemnable.
He further stated that, despite his regard for the former governor, El-Rufai's recent diatribes against the current administration portray him as a political loser who has resorted to mudslinging, name-calling, and attacking the government without justification, merely to remain relevant.
The SA on Sports emphasized that El-Rufai is politically incorrect and lacks the moral standing to accuse the APC-led administration. "What if he were appointed a cabinet minister in Tinubu's administration? Would he still make such utterances? Never. It is both incredible and shameful that he is seeking public relevance at a time when he is already the most disliked politician in the North-Western region of the country," Dibis remarked.
Hon. Dibis called on the public to disregard whatever El-Rufai has said or will say, urging them to reflect on who El-Rufai truly was and still is, particularly during his tenure as governor from 2015 to 2023.
"It is foolhardy that some people are supporting El-Rufai, forgetting the emperor-like rule he imposed on the good people of Kaduna State, as well as his penchant for dictating terms in Governor Sani's administration. Whatever he says stems from political frustration, as he has been ousted from a ministerial slot and has now turned into a political dissident out of the blue," the SA concluded
