Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has urged beneficiaries of the Presidential Growth and Loans Scheme for Nano Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (NMSME) to utilize the funds judiciously.
The governor made this call through his Special Adviser, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Tanko, at an event held in Kaduna for the beneficiaries of the grants and loans.
The scheme, introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, aims to boost business, entrepreneurship, and investment among small and medium-scale business operators.
Governor Sani emphasized the importance of adhering to the program's rules to achieve positive outcomes. He noted that the scheme would not only improve business and commercial activities but also create jobs through investment and skills acquisition.
Mrs. Joy, representing the Manager of Bank of Industry, praised the scheme as timely for enhancing entrepreneurs' development and socio-economic progress. She commended President Tinubu's administration for introducing the laudable scheme targeting small and medium-scale businesses.
Alhaji Badamasi Ya'u Barau, Kaduna State Coordinator and Manager of SMEDAN, stated that the scheme's objective is to boost businesses and reduce poverty.
He assured of effective collaboration with the Bank of Industry to achieve the scheme's targets in Kaduna State. Alhaji Badamasi revealed that N75 billion has been allocated for disbursement to business operators under the NMSME Scheme.
Renowned economist Idris Shu'aibu Mikalu lauded President Tinubu for the scheme but suggested that the N75 billion allocated should be increased to N500 billion to capture a substantial number of small and medium operators.
