Kaduna Election Marred by Irregularities, NNPP Demands Nullification

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has expressed strong disapproval and condemnation of the recent local government elections held in Kaduna State. In a statement issued by the party's state chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Sultan, the NNPP described the election as deeply flawed, citing multiple irregularities and a lack of transparency.

Alhaji Sultan criticized the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM) for what he called a "travesty of democracy." He outlined several key issues that marred the electoral process, including the absence of essential materials, such as result sheets, and reports of no voting in several areas, which disenfranchised many voters.

The NNPP also alleged that results were pre-determined, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) being declared the winner of all 23 local government chairmanships and 255 councilorship positions without proper verification.

In response, the NNPP has called for the immediate nullification of the results and the conduct of fresh elections under the supervision of impartial observers. The party is also demanding an independent investigation into the conduct of SIECOM and the electoral process, stressing the need for accountability.

The NNPP assured its supporters that it will explore all legal avenues to challenge the legitimacy of the election and urged the people of Kaduna State to remain peaceful as they pursue justice.
