A former Commissioner Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Plateau State, Hon. (Dr.) Dayyabu Yusuf Garga has decamped from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr. Dayyabu Garga, also known as Galadiman Jhar and Walin Garga, submitted his resignation letter to the APC party Chairman of Garga Ward.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Student Affairs to (ousted Executive Chairman of Kanam LGA)Taru Salim Dugub.
Garga expressed his gratitude to the APC for past opportunities but cited dissatisfaction with the local leadership, describing it as a “one-man show” that stifled growth.
He then, registered with the PDP and received his membership card at the Ward level.
In his resignation letter, Dayyabu Garga said his commitment to peace and forgiveness, seeking pardon from anyone he may have offended during his time with the APC.
He expressed the PDP’s inclusive and people-centered approach as a refreshing alternative and assured his new party members that his move would encourage more defections from the APC to the PDP at the local level.
The former commissioner advised the PDP to embrace inclusivity and avoid the mistakes of the APC, emphasizing the importance of treating every member equally.
The Ward PDP Party Chairman and his executives welcomed Dr Dayyabu Garga, describing his arrival as a “big sign of victory” and assuring him that his contributions would be valued.
