CFTG Launches Charter to Address Key Issues in Kaduna State

The Campaign for Transformative Governance (CFTG), a joint Labour and Pro-Labour Civil Society Advocacy and Campaign program, has identified inadequate medical personnel and facilities, infrastructural challenges in educational institutions, and rising insecurity as major problems facing the Kaduna State government. 

These observations were made during the launch of the Kaduna State Chapter of the CFTG's Charter of Engagement.

Speaking at the event, the Kaduna State CFTG Chairman, Abdullahi Alhassan Danfulani, called for increased budgetary allocations, policy reviews, and the implementation of death sentences for armed robbery and kidnapping to address some of these challenges. 

He explained that the charter outlines the campaign's expectations and demands for transformative governance in the state, focusing on key areas such as healthcare, education, and insecurity.

"The charter was a comprehensive guide that we will use in our interactions with the state and local governments," Danfulani explained. "We aim to advocate for transformative governance through media engagements, town hall meetings, and other citizens' engagement mechanisms."

The launch of the charter marks a significant step towards achieving transformative governance in Kaduna State. The CFTG has called on the government to take immediate action to address the pressing issues highlighted in the charter. 

The organization pledged to continue its advocacy efforts to ensure that the needs and demands of the people are met.

The CFTG Kaduna State Chapter's commitment to using the charter as a guide in its advocacy efforts underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between civil society and the government in tackling the state's challenges. 

The launch event has set the stage for ongoing dialogue and action aimed at improving the quality of life for all residents of Kaduna State.
