Kaduna, July 5, 2024 — The Beulah Future Leaders Foundation and ProjectSmile for Humanity Foundation in collaboration with SFH A360 Kaduna state has successfully conducted a significant community outreach program to sensitize Adolescent and Young persons within the community of Television, Kaduna south LGA on HIV and AIDS awareness, reduce stigma and maximize impact in preventing and fight against the diseases that can affect Adolescent and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (AYSRH).
The event, held at the Comprehensive Health Center in Ungwan Maichibi, Television Community, Kaduna South, saw the participation of over 160 individuals.
The theme of the campaign, “Community Outreach/Testing on HIV/AIDS in Television Community,” underscores the critical importance of local engagement in combating the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance public awareness, encourage testing, and provide essential information on prevention and management.
Community outreach programs like this one are vital in addressing public health issues at the grassroots level. They play a crucial role in:

The event kicked off with an opening speech by Ms. Kony Wendy Baka, the Executive Director of the Beulah Future Leaders Foundation. She emphasized the importance of community involvement in tackling HIV/AIDS and thanked the participants for their willingness to engage with the issue.
“We believe that true change begins at the community level. By empowering individuals with knowledge and resources, we can create a healthier, more informed society,” Ms. Kony stated.
Mr Farouk U. Abdullahi, SFH Adolescents 360, speaks on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, provided an informative session on the basics of HIV/AIDS, modes of transmission, prevention strategies, and the importance of regular testing.
“Education is our most powerful tool in the fight against HIV/AIDS. We need to ensure that everyone understands how to protect themselves and their loved ones,” Dr. Farouk remarked.
The highlight of the event was the free HIV testing provided by trained healthcare professionals. Participants were able to receive confidential testing and counseling, with results delivered on-site.
This service was particularly appreciated by the community, as it provided a convenient and private way for individuals to learn their HIV status.
