AYCF Calls Out Governor Lawal for Failing to Address Insecurity in Zamfara, Blaming Federal Government Instead -News Panorama

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) has alleged that the recent attacks on the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, are targeted at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement issued by AYCF's President General, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, the organization accused Governor Lawal of failing to address the insecurity in his state and instead blaming the federal government.

Shettima highlighted Governor Lawal's absence during critical security crises, including the abduction of female students from the Federal University Gusau, and his refusal to collaborate with federal initiatives to combat insecurity.

AYCF praised the efforts of Matawalle and Ribadu in combating terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats, and called on President Tinubu to ignore the distractors and continue to work with his trusted allies.

The organization emphasized that Matawalle's proactive measures have been pivotal in enhancing the effectiveness of security efforts, and that Ribadu's focus on overhauling the operational environment for security forces has been commendable.

AYCF's statement comes amidst growing concerns about the insecurity in Northern Nigeria and the need for collective efforts to address the challenges. The organization's accusations against Governor Lawal highlight the complexities of the security situation and the need for leaders to work together to find solutions.

AYCF called on President Tinubu to remain focused on his agenda and to continue working with his trusted allies, despite the attacks and criticisms from distractors.
