Rivers Angels and El-Kanemi Warriors Emerge Champions of President Federation Cup

 






The Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos witnessed an exhilarating conclusion to the President Federation Cup as Rivers Angels and El-Kanemi Warriors emerged champions in the women's and men's categories, respectively.


Rivers Angels secured their ninth title by defeating Naija Ratels 1-0 in the women's final, with Blessing Okpe scoring the decisive penalty. Coach Whyte Ogbonda praised his team's dedication and resilience, while Naija Ratels' coach Bankole Olowookere commended his young squad for their progress.


In the men's final, El-Kanemi Warriors triumphed over Abia Warriors 2-0, with Nasiru Salihu scoring both goals and earning the MVP award. This victory marks El-Kanemi Warriors' third title and secures their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup alongside Enyimba FC.


The event was graced by dignitaries including Sports Development Minister Senator John Owan Enoh, Acting Governor of Borno State Umar Usman, and NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau. The winners received cash prizes of N25 million (women's) and N50 million (men's), while individual awards were presented to outstanding players.


The President Federation Cup's return to its birthplace by the Lagos Waterfront was a resounding success, showcasing the best of Nigerian football.
