Makka, Saudi Arabia - The Kaduna State delegation's successful 2024 Hajj pilgrimage has been attributed to the state government's foresight in setting up a versatile committee, the commitment of members, and the cooperation of pilgrims. Amirul Hajj, Engr Suleiman Umar, the Emir of Lere, made this known during a press briefing in Makka.
According to Engr Umar, early preparations, which began ten months prior, played a significant role in the success of the pilgrimage.
The committee organized sensvitization programs for intending pilgrims, negotiated decent accommodation in Makka at a reasonable price, and ensured a smooth airlift of pilgrims at the Mando Hajj Camp.
The leader of the delegation commended the pilgrims for their patience and adherence to instructions, praising the Hadaya Committee for negotiating a downward review of the ram sacrifice price from $150 to $100, resulting in a $50 refund for pilgrims.
The outbound airlift to Nigeria is set to commence, with pilgrims being conveyed on a "first to come, first to leave" basis.
Engr Umar counseled pilgrims to maintain their orderly conduct during the return journey, expressing gratitude to Allah for the overall success of the pilgrimage.
The Kaduna State template for Hajj preparations has been adopted by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for other states, a testament to the success of the delegation's efforts.
